Well, we all need to find the time for our crafting. So the thing to do is lay out your day. . . you know, make a list of what really needs to be done today. Then figure out when you can pull some time for yourself to do the crafting. I gave up tv long ago in favor of crafting. . .even now when my BF wants me to join him watching tv, I have my knitting or embroidery or something in my hands to work on.

Another thing I did when my children were still at home, I would get up an hour earlier to do the dishes and laundry, then once they were out the door for school, I had an hour to do my crafting before work.

Here's wishing you an extra hour to your day to play!!!!

Melanie - I am the worst housekeeper in the world. That's how I make time for making things LOL. It's not a good solution, though, because I usually can't find the craft supplies I need for a given project. (And, well, the house is a wreck - guess that's a pretty big drawback to my "system," too!)

hahahahaha, melissa you are great. i think we have the same system. i dont know if i could craft in a "clean" house, but i have never had to test the theory.
lately i have been on a cleaning binge cause i am travelling to dallas for a surgery on my legs the first week in june. i dont know why but i want my house straight.
or my version of straight
anyway, i have been back at my pincushions, not the acorn ones but just the standard ones. i have been making pincushions forever and i love it, i think i am addicted to it.

here is a pic of some of the pincushions.made from scraps, hope yall enjoy them.

Fran...I love your pin cushions. Do you sell them or swap them? I would buy or swap for one.

one of the things that i find so great about this site is that it is so farmgirl(user) friendly. if you havent already done it check out the faq section and there will be a whole area about posting pics.
there is also an area at the bottom of the site where you can practice.
i use photobucket to post pics here, its free and MOST of the time easy to use, although i have dial up and nothing is easy with dial up
anyway, give these areas a read, try out photobucket and continue to ask questions. that is how i learned and the farmgirls here were a big help with everything.
i will be happy to help at any point along there if you run into any glitches, but as far as i know unless thing have changed you have to go first and join a pic sight like photobucket.
when all else fails, usually brian or rene or carol, someone from the farm comes on the thread and gives you just the info you need. allee and aunt jenny have also been great sources of help for me here.

I just finished applique on five newborn onesies for Mary LD (my pincushion sister) to take to Haiti this summer. When I have a moment, I'll post the photos. The weather is actually NICE here, so I'm gardening, not sewing. Frannie, Love the pincushions. JoJo, I gave up TV a long time ago to sew and read, but there are still not enough hours in the day! Talking about what you are working on today. Well, not today. But this is one block that I started last summer which is the center of a large quilt. I need to get back to this project. Anyway thought I share. I think the image is too big. Still learning how to attach these images on forum. Need to fix that for next time.

zoed, wow a picture and a great one. i love your colors.
if you used photobucket there is a place to edit the pics down after you download them and before you put them on this site. but when the pic is that pretty who cares if it is big.
anyway, i cant believe you live in pearland. not far from where i grew up. i hope the gulf of mexico is not suffering to badly in galveston. anyway, how long have you been in that part of texas?

Frannie, I have been in Pearland for five years.
Moved here from Chicago. I love Pearland and
Galveston where I work. We have not Bern affected

I'm working on a vintage embroidery of a woman right now for a swap. I used crayons to tint her hair, flowers and dress and then the stitching part. I'm usually working on 3 or 4 things at once. LOL!

Next week I'm dipping my toes into cold process soap. I can't wait to try it.

I am working on Sunbonnet Sue blocks for a quilt for my daughter. I am thinking that I want to use 30's prints for the boarders.

Also making aprons for dishsoap bottles. Cute freebie pattern.

Have a wonderful day.

I just finished this for a swap I am in. The lady is a vintage pattern that I embroidered. I decided to tint her with crayons and the inside of the flowers are beads. I hope she likes it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7528267@N02/4641034704/

Pam, if she doesn't, she's nuts - your lady is lovely! Those flowers are wonderful - I really like the beaded centers.

Juanita - hope you've replenished your crochet cotton stash! It's always frustrating to run out in the middle of a project. Then again, there are always plenty of other projects to work on until I can restock. :-)

Marcy - how's the tatting going? That always looks so neat. One of these days...

Amy - is your sunbonnet sue quilt full-sized? 1930s prints are some of my favorites.

My "craft" for today is going to be writing a blog post and keeping my little boy happy (or less cranky, anyway). He got into something the other day and is covered with hives. Looks like poison ivy or poison oak - except we live in Interior Alaska, and have neither ivy nor oak growing here. It's a mystery. Sigh.
