Today, even still feeling punk...I worked on a gift for my S.S. and did some gardening and dried my parsley and made Banana Nut Bread.

Thanks Dianne :)Used to live not too far from Amsterdam, now live about 200 KM from it so don't visit it anymore. I sometimes miss strolling through the shops but then I think of ALL the hustle and bustle and am glad again :)

I just finished the cleaning so now have time to "play" again lol. Finished a swiffer cover ;) Will make another one. It turned out cute IMO lol.

Peggy, glad you are up and about -- keep getting better.

I have started doll's clothing. Am also knitting a dishcloth. I don't think I'm a very good knitter, but so far I've not dropped a stitch or added one (I'm great at adding stitches). People laughed very hard at the mittens I made in home ec, oh so many, many years ago, that I think I convinced myself I couldn't even do simple knitting -- you all convinced me otherwise. Thank you so much.

Suzanne...you would laugh out loud if you knew how many times I rip out even simple projects like wash clothes
(being the perfectionist that I am) but that is how we learn. Trial and error! And I have had lots of them!
Bravo on not dropping or adding stitches! Well, done Farmgirl!

Hugs,
Peggy

OK, What am I working on...hmmm, well let's see, I have a collection of sewing machine...22, which includes 2 sergers, and 2/3rd's of the machines are vintage machines...
I drug home yet another one a couple of weeks ago,,,it's still out in the garage...hiding...can't let the hubby see it, I told him I was on a 12-step program to get my off my sewing machine addiction...lol!
As for sewing,,,the only thing I have sewen in the past month is a goofy looking horse head to make a stick horse for my trailer and a hand full of yoyos....
Come on Winter...then I will be house bound with no excuses for not sewing! lol! or will I????? heeheehee!

Grace...my embroidery work is quite the opposite and so is my Plastic Canvas work. They look like
some toddler did it when you look on the back. The front might look pretty but the back is horrid!
I think God is always trying to cure me of my perfectionism but I was raised by a Perfectionist Mom
and Unfortunately I raised my kids the same way...and it is cruel to do that. It is a disease that
needs a 12 step-program all it's own.

Love and Hugs,
~peggy

I was taught to worry about the back of embroidery, something about an aunt's work that was equally beautiful on either side.

I have much more fun when I don't worry about it. And I think my front embroidery looks better when I don't worry so much. Suzanne

Suzanne...I admire embroidery that looks as beautiful on either side. I have tried and do well for awhile
and then...it's like I become a rebel and think...who really cares...it's the back for crying out loud! Like
I said...I think it is God trying to keep me humble! LOL

hahaha, I too use to be really ridgid when it cam eto making sure the back side of my cross stitch nearly mirrored the front....then my brain snapped & said "knock it of goofball" and ya know what...I did...hahaha!
Now I am not as fussy with the back side if it is not visable. Thank Goodness....lol!
I have gotten less ridgid in my years and have a better scence of humor about myself!
Ah Life is good!

too seriously. I'd rather laugh, love and live any day of the week.

Just jumping in here because I saw the thread about embroidery and perfectionism. I once read a quote that said "Perfectionism is the worst kind of self-abuse." I, too, tend to be a perfectionist and, as one, felt I could never be completely satisfied with what I created. I believe the Amish purposely make one mistake on every quilt they sew because they believe only God is perfect, not humankind. So...let's all put perfectionism where it belongs--out of our hands! I never worry about the backs of my stitching. I use to because I would receive other stitching and see how clean they were. Then I realized I do totally different stitches than everyone else and I let it go. LOL! I still knot, use almost one stitch all the time and just have fun with it. Little imperfections bring out the character in everything.

Dianne...that is funny what you shared about the Amish Imperfections but only because I had never heard that
before...but when I knit Prayer Shawls I always do that ... I make ONE mistake on purpose...to remind people
and myself that Life Isn't Perfect or A Neat & Tidy Little Package. In fact... It's even Messy & Complicated
most of the time.

See, I have been learning myself...to lay it down and enjoy Life More! It's only taken a gazillion years of
little and big God reminders...but I'm not a total lost cause! Ha Ha!

Pam...I'm glad you shared on that thought too.

~peggy

Congrats on the sale Juanita.

Peggy, your prayer shawls sound great -- Suzanne

PS We are tiling the utility room and so not much stitching, but the actual tiling is rather like putting quilt squares together.

Suzanne...what kind of tile are you laying down? I bet that is like quilting! LOL

Juanita...I am happy you got a sale on your tote bags. Isn't that exciting?
How is your church going? Is your Pastor on board now?

I still have Photo's to send out too. I am slow on some projects and that is one of them.
I try to do a couple every day...at this rate I may need to take a new photo. LOL

Today I worked on a Shawl, embroidery, and a knit wash cloth.

Hi, the tile is a pretty beige with hints of brown. We didn't do anything fancy as most of the floor will be covered with our washer and dryer. And oh, am I sore; I have put down all the tiles we have done today. Quilting is a bit easier on the knees and hands. And I cut my arm on a nail that I forgot to pull from the wall where we had pulled trim. I think it will be sore tomorrow, but it doesn't need stitches.

I plan to relax with some knitting of dishclothes and whatever sports event is on tv. Suzanne

Taking a break here while the paint dries on the cabinets I have been restoring. I hope they paint up nice. They were an awful lot of work. But one way or another they are going in that kitchen. Thinking about laying some tile in the renovation but its 23 x 15 feet and I am dreading doing that alone. I really like doing punch needle stuff and you have to be really careful of the back side. One pull and its do it again. I usually coat the back with some of that flexible glue. Had one professionally framed and it was a hoot. The guy matted it backwards with the shiny glue side showing. Was he embarrassed to have to do it again. :)

I want to learn to do tatting. I'm finishing up a hankie for my husband than I am doing a special project for someone. I can't wait to start.
