Julie...I make about 4 to 5 dish clothes a week. I am addicted to making them. I sell them, give them away, and swap them. I tell everyone that I consider them "Cheap Therapy"! lol What kind are you making? Just curious.
Linda...I love to make prayer shawls too. For about 3 years all I made were Prayer Shawls and scarfs. I kept a Journal with pictures of each Shawl I made and the story behind how God laid a particular person on my heart to make them for. I quit keeping track after 37 Shawls. I made them for men with cancer, for women with all sorts of illnesses or needs and even for children with cancer or because their parent had cancer and they were afraid and needed comfort. It is an awesome way to bless somebody.
Tonight...I finished my Mail-Art and then sorted my buttons into seperate colors. So, now I have a jar of pink, a jar of blue, a jar of red, a jar of white, a jar of purple etc. They look as pretty as canned fruit. They are eye-candy for sure!

My daughters are coming to visit over the next month. Went shopping yesterday and bought fabric to make each of them a dish drainer quilt and matching dishcloth. I figure it's a little piece of home they can take with them.

AJ...lovely idea for your daughters. I am sure they will enjoy that! Something handmade from mom's heart to theirs!
This morning I posted a Step-by-Step Tutorial on my Blog Site, on how to make a Heart Shaped YoYo. They are so much fun and so addicting to make.

I am making comfort shawls that I am hoping to send to anyone who might be in need of a hug. I have one done and I am working on another one. They are really soft and comforting.

Peggy- it's a free pattern off Lion Brand Yarn. Really simple though. Chain 44 and then do half-double in the back loop only till the piece measures 10 1/2 inches.
I saw that Simplicity patterns were on sale for .99 at Hobby Lobby. Had to get some for some bloomers and found a couple of patterns for bags.
Started sewing together my small beginner quilt piece.

Socks, lots of socks - they are addicting and you can buy it in small quantities (yarn is cheap). Also got back to working on a white summer sweater that I bought the yarn for in June. Too many projects started, not enough time - can't wait for winter!

Love comfort shawls....could use some comfort right now . I am not doing anything at the moment, just no oomph. Did finish the dishcloth though so that is done. Not sure what I am going to do.....first see if I can muster up the courage to get off the couch and atually start something.

I am cross stitching a sock monkey on a pillow case right now for my grandson. Even though I do not know if he will ever get it since his mother ran away to Montana with him. I fiqured I would finish it any ways and mail it to him. I pray she will give it to him. Ho-Hum....

My first attempt at homemade hamburger buns. They are still in the oven, they smell good, but the feel a little heavy. I don't mind goofy up baked bread stuff, what we don't eat the goats will.

Peggy... when you make your prayer shawls are you knitting or crocheting or ????? I love shawls but I think one dedicated to prayer would be a nice thing.
I'm actually not doing much of anything right now. Busy with the livestock, children and garden but hopefully in the winter I'll have the time. REALLY interested in spinning and weaving. I'm going to join a local guild and see if I can learn how before I spend that kind of money. But I did make homemade tortillas for supper tonight! Does that count??
Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories |

Kimberly...I knit mine but they can be crocheted too. There are books for making prayer shawls. Can google the words Prayer Shawl and it will tell you all about them.
Yes, making homemade tortillas definately counts! :+)
