Tentative date for first chapter meeting: February 28, 2011
9:15am/breakfast, followed by
working on community service
journals.

NOTE: Please e-mail me ASAP if you plan to attend. I am making the journals from pieces of recycled cereal boxes.

I'm not sure if anyone can meet-up for all of these classes, but I have located free rug hooking classes. You may need to purchase a hook and wool, but classes are free.

LEARN TO SPIN Workshop

spin with a drop spindle
use various types of wheels
card and comb
select and store fibers

If you are interested in a cereal box journal, they are $6.00 each (covers cost of binding and paper), plus shipping. At this moment I do not know how much these will cost to ship, but they are made from cereal boxes, and filled with over a 1/2 inch of 100% recycled copy paper. Ladies,
I'm considering making a recipe book to pass down family recipes to my children. These will go in their Hope Chests and help them start out when they move out. Have any of you done this? I'm contemplating how to make them - hand write them and put them in recipe boxes, in binders etc.?

I would love to hear your ideas.

I'll add more for Findlay later. Tammy, do you have information about any Farmer's markets in that area?

Kristina, Suter's sets up their stand on Rt. 224 in Findlay close to McDonald's. I know it's not a market, per se, but they do offer a great deal and are consistent with their hours of operation. Their sweet corn is worth every penny!

Thank you Karen. The farmer we usually by our sweet corn from, is not growing it anymore. We have not expanded our garden far enough to grow enough for ourselves (big family). I'll have to visit it for sure. we freeze it for winter too.
