Have any ideas for using old soda bottles (pretty old, like 30 yrs or so, salvaged from historic type sites)? Some are Dr. Pepper, coke, they are all pretty weathered. One or two are nicer than the others but I don't think they are worth anything.
I thought about using them outside, maybe on a bottle tree? I have also seen them mouth down lining pathways. Right now they are taking up space under a bathroom sink..

I remember seeing an article in Mother EArth News where they were used to form the "windows" in a cob building. I'll have to see if I can find that again, it was pretty nifty, though not very practical unless you are already building a cob storage shed or something.

Elizabeth that's what I was going to say. My neice told me about it. She made herself a set.
I also have old glass bottles, I fill with colored water. Whatever the color of the room is. My mother had an old bottle that rocks and my sister has it in her kitchen window with color water in it. --marlee

I have taken empty wine bottles and made lamps. You will need to purchase a diamond head drill bit. A string of small christmas lights. Some fabric and glue (Aleene's works just fine) And a small lamp shade.

You can make wind chimes. I've seen that before.

I use them to make engraved candle holders. I've got some bottles now that I'm planning to turn into lamps. Bottle trees are always nice. You can also cut the tops, turn it upside down into the bottom and have a container for a small plant that'll catch the water.
