I have done no research on it, but I also use it for pet food also.
I also keep the grilling tools in one. Leave it out on our balcony. I painted it first. I use it for a cleaning bucket, keep brushes and rags etc. They would make a great grooming bucket for the horse (or other livestock) I also used them to carry water to the livestock in the winter.
I love those buckets and don't even have a cat anymore ...
Oh and you can reuse them for kitty litter, just buy the kitty litter in bags and pour it in! |

You could also grow plants in them. Just a thought.

We keep one on each porch in the winter full of sand/rock salt along with a scoop to use for icy walkways & steps. My boyfriend also uses them to hold waste oil from the truck and tractor until he can take it to a disposal site.
Lots of great uses for them!

We save them up and use them for puttin compost in durin the winter. We keep them on the porch and just add to them till full. Then in the spring when it's not any icy trip out there, we empty all of them onto the compost pile.
